Woodland Walk, Hodnet Shropshire

As soon as Candy (our dog) hears to the word 'woods' she gets excited. She just can't contain herself. We own a woodland in Hodnet, Shropshire which is about 15 miles from where we live so Candy just can't get there quick enough. If only the woodland was in our back garden! As you can see she has her eyes on the road intently but the best thing about this photo is her ears and back of her head, I think this is so cute. #woodlandwalk #hodnet# shropshire #hodnetwalk #dogwalkers #jackrussellterrier It takes about an hour to walk around the lovely woodland. No cars, no people just us. Bliss! This part is the entrance to our part of the woodland. Candy likes to have a good run here. We're looking

The best combination for Eczema

Sometimes I get asked with being a massage therapist , what is good for Eczema? I always say Lavender Oil topped with Sudocrem. You probably think this is a odd combination but it works! I used to do this for my son when he was a baby as he suffered with this quite alot and it worked every time and was better than any medication prescribed by the doctor. Apply a few drops of the oil onto specified area, rub in then apply Sudocrem on top to seal in the oil. Do this every night before bed until healed. Lavender is the most versatile, with a spread of properties ranging from analgesic, via antidepressant, antiseptic, bactericidal and decongestant, to insect repellent, and sedative. Lavender is

Hey Pesto!

What with all the Basil we have grown in the greenhouse it was time to make Pesto!!. The type we have grown is Crimson Basil and Thai Basil. The Thai Basil has more of a aniseed or fennel taste. We planted our Basil seeds in April and they were ready to be picked around the beginning of July. You can get windowsill seeds or ones for the outdoors. The choice is yours. This was the first time we have made it and I have to say this is better than what I have bought in the shops. Here's how we made this lovely vegetarian pesto: Ingredients 2 Packed cups of fresh basil 1/2 Cup of Parmesan Cheese 1/2 Cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1/3 Cup of Pine nuts 3 Garlic Cloves crushed. 1/4 teaspoon Salt 1/8

When is Toast not Toast?

I don't know about you but when I order toast for breakfast when I'm out I expect it to be toast. Toast as in toasted, browned, has colour to the bread, has a crunch when you bite into it covered in butter and jam or marmalade. But on several occasions, well actually quite a lot of times in my experience the toast comes out as warmed bread!! or it will come out looking a bit like toast only to bite into it like bread and tasteless. If I wanted warmed bread I'd ask for it! #morrisons Another one is when the toast is presented to you and wrapped in a serviette. What the dickens! I presume this is to keep the toast warm but the toast gets damp and looses it's crunch. Can nobody get it right!! I

Why do you always feel good after a beer?

Well according to my husband beer contains vitamins and other essential nutrients. When he said this to me I was like. WHHATTT!! VITAMINS!! He said yeah vitamin B12. Obviously I had to google this like you do!! and here is what I found: B Vitamins Beer was known to be a source of B vitamins like niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, vitamins B6 and B12, and folate, which scientists now understand can help guard against birth defects of the brain and spine. In fact, a single bottle of beer (12 oz.) provides up to 12.5 percent of the recommended requirement of vitamin B6, which is known to be generally helpful on a cellular level and also heart-healthy.
